Hi Charlie, I really enjoyed that. You've got the feel on the Freddy licks and I'm glad you keep soloing here and it builds up very nicely! And by the 3rd solo chorus you're playing yourself which is the whole point! Good natural transit from the Freddy licks to your own. Keep up the good work! Duke

The tracks great and I'll work on a video this week. But can I share this? It's an "original" the band plays that I realise is basically this song (only nowhere near as good of course!!!) Never felt I quite nailed it - could never find the way I wanted to approach it, couldn't work out if it was B.B, T-Bone, Louis Prima (and I'm nowhere near good enough to play like me yet!) But this versions pretty decent (I hope)

Revisiting this in honor of the Duke's birthday (the other Duke, the guy who write this beauty : ) Lovely lesson and great playing - literally had a 'WOW' moment at one of the lines you played! Using lockdown to dig deeper into SJ, especially the heavyweight numbers like this one : )

Like you say there are a ton of awesome numbers based on these changes - I totally trust your taste! I'd be fascinated to dig deeper into how Charlie Christian, Tiny Grimes and Oscar Moore approached them. Also, any chance you could speak to how you tackle these changes when the key would be better suited to chords rooted off the A rather than E string (e.g. when playing in Eb, or F)?

This one played and it's very good. Nice tune and I recognized quite a few lines in your solo and the outro. Very nice!
